Summary
Chapter 18
Matthias is not surprised at the identity of the troublemaker. Apparently, the man had begun to complain about the shoddy work and low quality materials being used in the building. The foreman told him it was none of his business and to get back to work. A fight ensued, and police were called. The man was placed in a police car and taken away.
Jade enters Matthias’ office and asks the secretary for information on the man. She learns that his name was Dillon Burke. The company had almost no information on Burke. Jade decides she needs to speak to the man.
Jade goes to the jail and bails out Burke. Burke is sullen, extremely rude, and hostile. Jade asks if he will accompany her to dinner because she has a proposition for him. Burke immediately misunderstands. As much as Burke tries...
