Chapter 12
Columbia, South Carolina, 1978
Hutch visits Neal and Lamar at their house. Hutch had not been permitted to live with the boys during his freshman year in college due to the football coach’s strict rules. Now Hutch was married to Donna Dee. Neal teases Hutch about being henpecked. Hutch becomes annoyed with Neal but says little.
The history of Hutch and Donna Dee’s romance is discussed from their first date through to their marriage. When Hutch announced to his father that he intended to get married, Fritz was concerned but eventually gave his blessing.
