Summary

Eva told Pikelet about her relationship with Sando, and her life and travels as a freestyle skier. The couple had moved to the west coast of Australia in the aftermath of Eva’s accident, due to an argument between Sando and Eva’s father – over the botched surgery and the legal battles that ensued.

Eva became more dependent on drugs, and more unkind to Pikelet as she grew bored of him. Sex became rare and unenjoyable. One day, he noticed that her belly looked swollen. She dismissed his concerns and suggested they should try something different. Then she produced a bag along with an adjustable leather collar, explaining that she liked to suffocate herself and she wanted him to help.
