Summary

When Pikelet and Loonie went to collect their boards from Sando’s house, his wife told them that he was in Indonesia. They went surfing in stormier conditions than they were used to, and afterwards joined the Angelus crew for a drive further along the coast, where they observed even larger waves breaking: a bombora. Back at the house, the woman (Eva) let them in for coffee then drove them home. Eventually, they met Sando at the house, and he took them surfing. They told him about their achievements in the storm, and he told them that the bombora they had seen was called Old Smoky. They began visiting Sando regularly, and doing odd jobs for him. Sometimes he gave them surfing lessons or entertained them with stories, and other times he ignored them. Eva was consistently unfriendly.
