Chapters 29 and 30 Summary

In Chapter 29, Sasha is at the rally. He doesn't sing along with the others. He carries the banner and waits in the hall for his cue to enter. He hears the drum roll but has set the banner down to dry his eyes which were are filled with tears. He knows that everyone is waiting for him. He sets the banner against the wall and runs out of the school. He doesn't want to be a Pioneer.
