Section 14: Book 3, Chapters 36 & 37 Summary

In Chapter 36: Bloodlust, the Volturi approach followed by their own witnesses, an angry mob of vampires eager for justice. Irina looks horrified when she sees her sisters with the Cullens. When the Volturi stops, Edward explains the Volturi are weighing their options about how to proceed and this will be Carlisle's only chance to speak. Carlisle greets Aro who says the kind words seem out of place considering the army he has amassed to kill them. When Aro asks to hear the story from Edward, Edward walks forward, and Jane's vicious smile infuriates Bella who then stretches her shield to include Edward. Amazed, Aro asks to meet Renesmee, telling Caius "the justice we intended to deliver no longer applies" (p. 693). Aro and a few of his guard meets Bella, Renesmee, Jacob and Emmett in the middle of the clearing...
