Section 5: Book 2, Chapters 11-13 Summary

In Chapter 11: The Two Things At the Very Top of My Things-I-Never-Want-To-Do List, as Sam moves the pack into formation, Jacob uselessly tries to fight the compulsion to rise and lead Embry and Quil as Sam ordered. As Jacob and Seth are dragged along by the compulsion to obey the Alpha's edict, Jacob realizes he is the only one who can challenge the edict because of things born in him; he never wanted to lead the pack, but Sam is wrong tonight and Jacob was not born to kneel to Sam.
