It is a quiet night at Mulvey's bar and Dessie is washing glasses before the late-night rush. A customer is seated on a bar stool, puffing on a cigarette. There is a burst of gunfire; glass breaks, bullets splinter the walls. Pussy, the gunman, runs into the shadows, watching the Church of the Holy Savior burning in the distance.
Patrick wakes up and Routledge says, "You're free."
