Chapter 9, Ladies and Gentlemen - Mr. Dummy Teat! Summary

Patrick tells Caroline and Whiskers that he is leaving the house, which he refers to as Rat Trap Mansions. Caroline and Whiskers jump on top of him and try to stop him from leaving. Patrick leaves, taking the road to the nearest town, Scotsfield. A Mercedes pulls up alongside Patrick, and a married politician and arms dealer who Patrick refers to as Mr. Teat opens the car door and offers him a ride. Patrick accepts, and soon becomes the man's lover. Mr. Teat, whom Patrick calls 'dummy,' buys him everything that he wants, including expensive perfume and clothing.
