Act 2, Scene 2, Part 2 Summary
Mother appears, complaining about how the sun is blinding her. She recognizes Brand and comments ironically on how home is a good place for him to be - where it's cold, like him. Brand tries to leave, and Mother comments that he's always running away. Brand comments that she always wanted him to leave, and Mother comments on how big and strong he's become. Then she warns him to be careful, referring to him being the last of the family line. She begins to talk about how much he will inherit from her, but he cuts her off, accusing her of wanting to buy him.
