Chapter 6 Summary
At breakfast, Jenna reads the local paper and learns that the man who died was a noted scientist who had worked for the government. The authorities so far are thinking that a spark accidentally ignited the gas tank on the jet ski, causing the explosion. Yoshiko urges Jenna not to focus on the incident. She's on vacation and the explosion wasn't her fault and isn't her problem. That afternoon, Jenna leaves Yoshiko on the beach while she returns to her room to call Dyson. Alice had faxed him the autopsy report on Whitney Bannister. The report contained nothing about the strange substance or the black tumor-like lesion.
Jenna asks Dyson to push Alice a little on the report. He agrees to do so but he had sensed that Alice was being evasive and he probably wouldn't find out anything else. Jenna hints that...
