Summary

Chapter One starts as the narrator, Luc reluctantly goes to a party with bunny ears and no date. He looks for his friends from the WhatsApp group QueerComestheSun and wonders why he is there. He explains that a famous man named Malcolm always holds wild parties and he felt obligated to go.

Then, a stranger approaches and introduces himself as Cam. Luc's mood is soured when Cam mentions Jon Fleming, Luc's father, as he never met the man and uses his mother's last name, O'Donnell. As they talk, Luc becomes more bitter and sarcastic, mentioning his dad's numerous scandals. He feels bad 'for lashing out, and Cam says Luc ruined Cam’s attempts to flirt with him. Luc apologizes, feeling he always ruins 'potential relationships.
