Chapters 33-37 Summary
Chapter 33 starts with Victoria, her mother and her math teacher, Ms. Weber, meeting in Dr. Gellar's office to discuss Victoria's failing math grade. Ms. Weber says that if Victoria makes a 55 on the statewide test, she will give her a 65 in the class. Victoria realizes that she will never be valedictorian and agrees to Ms. Weber's deal. Victoria finds Rue and asks her to reconsider being her math tutor for something in return. When Rue agrees to listen, Victoria tells her the payment plan, which is not revealed to the reader at this time. Later, in the school paper meeting, Victoria finds out that the piece she wrote with Max and Nelly won the statewide journalism contest and that the three of them and their teacher, Ms. Dicostanzo, will be going to the awards ceremony together.
