Chapters 5-10 Summary

Chapter 5 begins with Victoria spending time with her father in his creature shop. Victoria concentrates on creating alien and monster masks and clay creations and her father acknowledges her work as good. Later that day, Victoria is doing homework/drawing aliens at one of her favorite cafes, one she has chosen because there is little chance of seeing anyone she knows. She is interrupted by a girl asking her to participate in an art activity where everyone draws something and then gives it to someone else to color. It is then she runs into Max, who suggests that they color in each other's drawings. Victoria thinks about the importance of having her own space where no one will know her and, at that moment, Max expresses a similar feeling and they discuss both liking to work in the café environment.
