Summary
Margaret decided to train the boys to “pinset” in “The Noise of Ordinary Thunder” (207). The Depression was upon them, and Margaret used her frugality to support her family and keep the Alleys open. She did not reveal emotions about Nahum’s retreat outwardly, but internally, she struggled with love and anger. Roy and Arch had opposing personalities.
