Evyn

Evyn "Ev" Linney is a 13-year-old girl. She lives with her single father and her older brother in Portland, Maine. Ev's mother died in a car accident when she was one. Her best friend is Jules Anthony and the two girls have known each other and lived behind each other since they were babies.

When Ev's father announces he's getting married and they are moving to Boston, she resists right from the start. One of Ev's ways for dealing with all of the change in her life is she talks to her dead mother in her head. She's named her make believe mother Stella. Stella teaches Ev that she needs to put a bounce in her step and that she should allow anything the mean girls at school say to her just bounce off of her.
