Chapters 9 and 10 Summary

Al holds a family meeting. He hands out t-shirts that represent the Gartos-Linney Utopian Experiment. Ev goes into the backyard to visit Clam, their dog, who has been banned there because Thalia is allergic. When Ev tries to talk with Mackey about everything, she finds him playing video games with Ajax.

Ajax follows Ev out to see if she is okay. He explains that the wedding is hrad on all of them. Ajax tells Ev that their dad left five years ago and is now remarried with a 19-year-old wife. Ajax says their dad sends money but it's not the same. Ev decides to use the opportunity to find out if Ajax likes anyone at school and if he's going to the social. Ajax gives her a hard time and doesn't really give her any information.
