Summary
"Cholera"
In this chapter, Dantala describes how mosques like his are stepping up their efforts to help communities hit by a recent cholera epidemic. He goes with two other volunteers to deliver relief materials to a small village outside Sokoto. The village, when they arrive, looks deserted. They hear screaming coming from one of the houses and rush in to see two women kneeling over fly-covered, emaciated men. The volunteers work to hydrate the men and escort them to a nearby health center. Both men die en route to the hospital.
