Shannon goes into a tailspin after her mother confesses that Colin Bodine was not her biological father. She feels that her entire life has been a lie: through everything she fought so hard for, all the accomplishments she had made, all of professional success, she had been laboring under a misapprehension. These feelings are compounded when Amanda dies directly after her confession, and a few days later Shannon learns she has biological sisters in Ireland who have issued her an open invitation to come visit.
