Acceptance

Kylie quickly comes to accept the others at the camp have supernatural powers but she continues to have trouble accepting them as individuals. The fact that she is prejudiced against them is reasonable because Kylie doesn't understand them and is fearful of her own life. However, this fear should be replaced by acceptance as Kylie comes to realize the others don't mean to harm her. Kylie finds herself becoming friendly with Della though she subconsciously separates the girl she's befriended from the girl who is a vampire and drinks blood. When Kylie finally realizes she's making this separation, she pledges to accept Della completely. This is an important, conscious move on Kylie's part and one that the camp leaders are trying to foster among other youngsters.
