Summary

In Chapter 20: "Two-Part Poison," Salt says that Adam is working on something else for him and he needs Charlie to take over for Hermes. Charlie refuses and offers her condolences for the death of Salt’s grandson, but Salt reveals he knows that she was with Vince and demands that she get in his car. He pulls out a gun and Charlie knows he can get away with killing her, but she still refuses. He promises to pay her if she goes and Charlie finally relents, meeting his daughter Adeline. Salt tells her to retrieve Liber Noctem from Vince. He says Vince’s alcoholic mother is the reason that Vince uses people so easily, calling Vince ruined by the time he was 13. However, Salt says Vince has incredible magical talent who treated his shadow like some imaginary friend.
