Summary

In Chapter 5: "Inside Out," Charlie arranges a ride home with Barb after Vince was unable to get the parts needed to fix the car before his late-night job. Charlie wonders what it would be like to hold the power that Salt wants, but knows her and Posey’s lives will end if she tries. However, Balthazar told her that she was only good at being a con woman. Charlie searches for the Liber Noctem (also called The Book of Blights) that discusses shadows that manifest away from their humans. She wonders if this is what Adam is trying to move as Barb arrives and demands Charlie come for dinner. Charlie agrees and goes to Barb’s house where numerous people are already there. A few quests talk about the wonderful experience of alterationist-induced bliss while others are already tipsy.
