Summary

In Chapter Seven, Maren and Lee passed a billboard for a carnival and decided to go together. While riding the Ferris wheel, Maren spotted Sully in the crowd. Lee did not believe he was there as a coincidence, but Maren did. Sully said he had a cabin nearby and invited them to stay the night. Maren and Lee agreed to meet up with him later, but Lee was still suspicious.

They got in line for the Lucky Toss booth and watched as the girl working the booth tormented a young boy who wanted to win an ET doll. After the boy ran crying to his mother, Lee won a doll for him and one for Maren, then invited the girl from the booth, Lauren, to meet him after her shift. Maren watched from a distance as Lee took the girl into the shadows...
