Summary

In Chapter Three, Maren went to an Acme grocery store to look for food. An old woman, Lydia Harmon asked Maren to read the can for her and then asked her if she would help her get her groceries home on the bus in exchange for some pocket money. Maren agreed. They got on the bus together and took it to Mrs. Harmon’s house.

On the way, Maren spotted a creepy older man who stared at her and smiled as if he recognized her. When they got to Mrs. Harmon’s house, she made breakfast and asked Maren if she wanted to learn how to knit after she took her nap. Maren said yes and took a nap in the spare room. When Maren woke up, Mrs. Harmon was dead.
