Power
The theme of power is easily seen in the story, although it is shown in different ways by the various characters. Sally Wig wants to have power in the form of being in a higher position within Charlie Wagons' crime organization. Sally never actually calls it power, but is easy to see that he is very excited at the prospect of people cowering in fear of him. Sally will continually try to show the fact that he is a force to be feared, although this isn't necessarily true. Charlie Wagons also wants power, although he seemingly has the power he wants. When Charlie says that someone is to be "taken care of" it appears that there isn't a shortage of people to willingly do the job for Charlie. It is only when Charlie wants Tommy Pagana left alone that Charlie is second guessed.
