Chapter 15-20 Summary
In chapter fifteen Tommy is working at the Dreadnaught. The chef is going through withdrawals from not having a fix of heroin. The chef tried to go without sometimes and make it through a shift but just couldn't hold himself together. The chef finally leaves to get a fix and Tommy is relieved, knowing that at least the chef will be able to work when he returns. When the chef returns he is able to work and focus and seems like a new person. The chef pulls Tommy into his office where Chef pulls out a bag of dope. Tommy refuses to take any. The chef tells him that he has got on the waiting list for the methadone clinic.
