Summary
In "Roadkill," Finn O'Sullivan walks home from the school bus stop and notices that the corn talks to him, saying "here, here, here." His friend, Miguel, always says that he hates the corn because it seems alive and scary. Finn doesn't sleep much anymore because he always has nightmares about the day Roza was kidnapped. Finn sees the five Rude brothers walking on the road too and they bully him, calling him names like Moonface, and then they beat him up. People in town love Finn's brother, Sean, because Sean loved Roza and Finn wants them all to know that he loved her too. When the Rude brothers finally leave, Finn collects his things including his college prep test books. Finn arrives home, cleans up his wounds and begins working in the small garden patch.
