According to Claudia, there is certain kind of girl who comes from towns with names that sound like love. Towns with names like Mobile, Newport News, Marietta and Nagadoches seem to bred tall, thin, brown girls who soak up their hometown air and carry it with them into the world. These girls come from the kind of neighborhoods where everyone has a job and people sit on front porch swings. The girls from these towns always seem to be clean and cool and their clothes are always pressed to a shine. The girls go to local colleges, find husbands, create crisp orderly households, and produce one child, who is usually called Junior. Geraldine one of these lucky girls.
