Summary

Chapter 13 begins with Darren and Randie speeding toward the county line, where they eventually stop for Darren to change the shot-out tire on the pickup. He had a brief phone call with Wilson, during which he neglected to tell him about the shooting, and Darren and Randie decide to go to a nearby bar for a drink. Randie confessed that she was going to leave Michael, and told him the story of the guitar. In 1967, Michael’s uncle Booker had toured with Joe Sweet, and during a trip down to Houston they stopped at Geneva’s café when Geneva was only 21 years old. Joe and Geneva immediately fell in love, and Joe left the tour.
