Summary

Chapter 13 begins with Darren and Randie speeding toward the county line, where they eventually stop for Darren to change the shot-out tire on the pickup. He had a brief phone call with Wilson, during which he neglected to tell him about the shooting, and Darren and Randie decide to go to a nearby bar for a drink. Randie confessed that she was going to leave Michael, and told him the story of the guitar. In 1967, Michael’s uncle Booker had toured with Joe Sweet, and during a trip down to Houston they stopped at Geneva’s café when Geneva was only 21 years old. Joe and Geneva immediately fell in love, and Joe left the tour. Booker accidentally took Joe’s guitar with him, and it was never returned until his death when he left a note for Michael telling him where to find...
