Chapters 19-24 Summary

In chapter 19, Anita accepts the basket from Verne after a reassuring nod from Richard. Colin is obviously not happy with Verne going against him, but Verne seems to have had enough of the vampire and his threats. In the basket Anita is dismayed to find the head of Mira, the wolf that had betrayed them. A casual comment to Verne is taken as a vow and the head of Mira is not a trophy.

In chapter 20 Colin demands Asher's death to appease his anger at the trespass of his territory. Though Asher insists that he does not want to be master of Colin's territory, the vampire does not believe him.
