Summary
Like Father, Like Someone Else – At school, Kiran becomes aware that Cody, Donny, Melissa, and Sarah are making fun of him among themselves, but feels like he does not have to worry: secure in his new and very clear difference from everyone, he feels he no longer has to try to make himself liked. Later, he makes plans to construct his costume for the talent show, stealing one of his mother’s old saris and finding some of her old ankle bells from when she was a dancer. His plans to work on his costume in the library after school are upset when his father picks him up (unusually, as it is usually his mother) and takes him to the park to talk. As Kiran listens, his father tells him the story of the early, difficult days of his marriage to Kiran...
