Chapters 11-15 Summary
In chapter 11, Anita and Larry head to the latest murder scene. Arriving at the home they meet Officer Zach Coltrain, who is not very impressed with them. When they knock on the door, a small dog starts barking incessantly, and they are let in by Beth St. John, the wife of the local sheriff. Anita meets with David St. John who wonders about Anita and Larry's experience. Anita tells him of her three years on the Regional Preternatural Investigation Squad. St. John is much more welcoming, as this is his first experience with a vampire killing.
The body of Ellie Quinlan is on her bed, barely clothed. Anita tells the angry sheriff that Ellie Quinlan had invited her killer into her room, judging by the way she had been dressed and her open window. St. John informs Anita that Ellie's parents...
