Sydney Sage

Sydney is an 18-year old girl. Sydney, like her father, is an Alchemist. While Sydney is on her assignment in Palm Springs, her name is Sydney Melrose from South Dakota.Sydney is posing as a student and as a sister of Jill and Damien's. Her real purpose is to watch and help protect Jill from another Strigoi attack.

Prior to the novel starting, Sydney was apparently involved in a scandal among the Moroi and Alchemist people. Sydney had helped Rose Hathaway in her escape from charges for murdering the queen of the Moroi, Tatiana. Because of Sydney's involvement in the scandal, she is on house arrest with the Alchemists when the mission to protect Jill comes up.
