Chapters 19 - 21 Summary

Terry shows Jaye the surveillance video again and points out the earring. Then he shows her the police property report without the cross earring on it. He waits until Jaye comes to the conclusion that the shooter took it as a souvenir. He explains the reasons that he thinks that Gloria Torres was targeted and that the shooter actually watched her for days first or even knew her well enough to know that the cross had significance. Jaye thinks Terry is exaggerating but he explains his feeling that this is the kind of evil he knows, and asks if anything was taken from Cordell's truck at the ATM. Jaye isn't enthusiastic about going to Cordell's wife, and Terry tells her he understands she's busy and asks for her blessing to go ahead and look into it, and she relents.
