Chapters 5 through 9 Summary

In Chapter Five, Alex arrives at the hospital the following morning to find Raoul griping at a group of hospital personnel, including Beverly Lucas and Ellen Beckwith. The third person in the group is Dr. Augie Valicroix who Alex has yet to meet. After Alex comes inside, he learns that someone - apparently Woody's mother - posed as a laboratory technician and took Woody from his room and then from the hospital. Raoul is vocal in his accusations, saying that someone should have checked to know that Woody wasn't scheduled for tests and that they should have knows that he wouldn't call for any tests at this stage anyway. Augie speaks up for the nurses, saying that they are nurses and that it's unfair for Raoul to expect that they think "like cops." Raoul rounds on him and yells some more...
