Chapters 12-17 Summary
In Chapter 12, Viktoria encourages Rose to remain in Baia and perhaps finishing her education at the boarding school that Viktoria attends. Rose is still unsure about what she wants to do now. Later Mark also suggests that Rose remain in Baia. Mark tells Rose that he knows she is seeking to free Dimitri, but that it is dangerous to fight the Strigoi. He wants her to avoid such a life. Abe confronts Rose as well, but he wants her to return to America. That night, Adrian comes to Rose in her dreams. They argue and Rose tells him not to bother ever coming back.
In Chapter 13, on Easter, Rose attends church services with the Belikova family. Afterward, while Rose and Viktoria speak with Nikolai, a friend of Viktoria's, they are joined by Nikolai's brother and his friends, a group of unpromised...
