Chapter 11-15 Summary

In chapter eleven, Tobias receives an invitation to come to come to the Confessor's Palace by invitation of Master Rahl. Tobias has no intention of receiving this invitation until he is told that the D'Harans made it clear that there was no choice in the matter. Tobias takes Lunetta and leaves one of his men in charge of the old woman and her young granddaughter, explaining that the young girl can be killed as an example to the old woman, but he wants to be able to question the old woman when he returns.

When Tobias arrives at the Confessor's Palace in chapter twelve, they find the mriswith bodies on pikes in front of the building. When Richard gets up to speak, he tells everyone there that they are to surrender themselves to the D'Haran armies. Richard says that they will...
