The main setting for the book is the posh, super-rich community of Beverly Hills, California. The high school students in the book attend Beverly Hills High School and regularly eat at places like the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Most of the students in the book attend Beverly Hills High School and several scenes in the book take place on the school grounds. It seems that every student at Beverly Hills High has some sort of connection to Hollywood, whether it is through a parent or an acting or modeling career of their own.

Hermosa Beach

Hemosa Beach is an area outside of Los Angeles that is the setting for the television pilot for which Anna is asked to intern. She drives there several times for filming and then again at the end of the book to spend time with Danny.
