Summary

In “The Emissary,” Norma Jeane drew a bath for Marlon Brando whom she had met when she was living with Cass and Eddy G. Marlon was drunk and drugged. When Marlon removed his clothes for his bath, Norma Jeane feared he would want to have sex with her, but he asked only for her to help him remove his socks.

Later, Norma Jeane found Marlon had vomited in the bathwater and had passed out. Even though he cursed her, she got him out of the tub and into bed. She cuddled up next to him. They did not have sex, but Norma Jeane believed the experience changed her life. As she thought of the life she would have with the Playwright, she believed the baby she had aborted came close and forgave her.
