Summary

In “After the Wedding: A Montage,” when Norma Jeane was subpoenaed to appear before the Subversive Activities Control Board, the Ex-Athlete advised her to tell the truth. She told him she did not owe those men the truth and would not name anyone. She had the impression that he wanted to hit her when she told him it was her business what she hid and what she revealed. Even though she had heard he had beaten his first wife, she did not believe he would hit her.

The Ex-Athlete was angry with the Blond Actress and accused her of selling herself like “meat” (441) when she wanted to take a role in the movie Seven Year Itch.
