Summary

The “Prologue” titled “Special Delivery” is set two days before Marilyn was found dead in her Brentwood California home. The narrator suggests Marilyn decided to die by suicide after she received a package. She laughed when she took the package, believing she knew what was inside.

“The Kiss” describes Norma Jeane’s first memories of her mother taking her to see a movie at Grauman’s Egyptian Theatre. Norma Jeane watched other movies throughout her life and identified the rudiments of movies: A Dark Prince, A Fair Princess, and A Kiss at the conclusion of the movie.
