Los Angeles
Los Angeles is the primary setting for the short story "Los Angeles." The narrator resides here with her husband, her two children, their au pairs, and her 100 ex-boyfriends. They all live in one house, which is divided into three wings. The narrator spends the majority of her time with the ex-boyfriends while her husband is working. They take her out driving, out for food, and out shopping. The boyfriends let her experience the city in new and exciting ways. By way of contrast, when the narrator is flying around in the time-share jet with her husband, Los Angeles looks messy, disorderly, and random.
