Chapter 19 Summary

Claudia leaves Anthony a note before she leaves. When she heads home, she realizes that she forgot her coat back on the kitchen chair in Anthony's kitchen. Claudia decides she has to hide the truth from everyone, including Lila.

Lila flies in on Friday. After spending some time with her family, she goes off with Jena to visit Jigsaw. When Anthony calls later, Lila speaks with him in a normal voice. Claudia says she can't come to the phone and Lila tells him. Claudia teases that somebody else asked her to marry him. On Saturday, at the hunting meet, Claudia is relatively cold toward Anthony. She overhears Anthony on the phone calling someone darling.

Lila bursts in the door from the hunt at 6 that evening. Lila says she's going out, but will be back in time for them to go to service together...
