Chapter 14 Summary

Christopher is cooking in Valerie's kitchen when Jerome flings himself into the kitchen. Christopher points a knife at Jerome until he identifies himself. Valerie walks into the kitchen. Jerome explains what's going on. Valerie calls Anthony and he agrees to help.

Julia is complaining that the photojournalists are ruining her garden. She can't believe that she's been living next to the wife of a notorious criminal and that Claudia never confided in her. Star enjoys taking care of all of the reporters who have taken over the tables set up in Julia's garden. When it starts to rain, the visitors start to leave. Peter thinks it's maddening that Anthony Brewer is the one who saved the day by clearing the lane with a tractor.
