Chapter 8 Summary

Rosco and Star get in a verbal and a physical altercation after he gets in trouble with the police. Star had believed that Rosco had been at Sean's house when he was really breaking into the building and then spending time in jail. The garage owner promises to keep the job open for Rosco, even though he has gotten into trouble. Anthony Brewer's Mercedes pulls out in front of Star and Rosco when they are returning from his parole officer. Star sees a blonde girl in the passenger seat.

When Anthony picks Lila up for the ride to London, Anthony asks about Claudia and Jerome. Lila says Claudia went with Valerie in the ambulance. Lila suggests that Claudia is interested more in needy people than those who fend for themselves.

When Claudia gets to the hospital with Valerie, the doctors take Valerie away...
