Chapter 4 Summary
Star Bishop sees Jena riding her horse when she should be at school. She thinks about how Rosco always gets in trouble for being truant but this Jena girl doesn't. Star also thinks about how Rosco only has a couple more weeks before he finishes high school. She remembers when she had been between 14 and 16, she had changed her name from Stella to Star and then she had gotten pregnant with Rosco. Star had been living in a home provided by the state when she requested a housing transfer to a place in the country. Star had moved with Rosco, but Rosco's father, Billy, hadn't liked it. Now, Star has nine of her own cleaning clients and her own car. One of her cleaning clients is Julia Durnford.
