Summary

Owens begins her chapter on feminism with pointing to the major changes that the feminist movement has undergone over the years and how this has led to the uncertain and unrecognizable form of today. “Nothing about modern feminism,” Owens argues, “has anything to do with its original search for equality” (66). Additionally, there are only certain women that should be listened to, namely, those picked by the Democratic Party. Owens cites the appointment of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Here, he was accused of attempted rape by Christine Blasey Ford who “cannot remember any of the major details” (70). Ford was created into the “ultimate weapon of the liberal deminist movement” and led to the hashtag #BelieveAllWomen (71). Owens points out the ridiculous idea that all women are to be believed and that none are “capable of wrongdoing as men” (72).
