Chapters 49 and 50 Summary
On the ocean, the Pitt siblings help to inspect inbound ships, but the search seems futile and tedious. Above the ocean, Pitt Sr. spots several ships in their surveillance system. One is moving, and two are stationary. They investigate the two stationary objects. On the launching platform, Kang's team has finished preparing the launch, and the countdown has started. With just over three hours to go, the team begins evacuation of the platform. Pitt's blimp identifies the Odyssey and knows they are not supposed to be there. He radios the platform and gets a curt response that they are conducting systems tests. The blimp turns away.
