Xiala

Xiala is a Teek captain who was banished from her home by her abusive mother for reasons that she does not fully reveal. As a Teek, Xiala has magic that she refers to as the Song which allows her to manipulate the emotions of people around her as well as communicate with the water that she sees as her mother. While this makes her a good ship captain, it also leaves her vulnerable to others as Teek bones and eyes are often sold as good luck charms. Xiala is stubborn and confident, hiding her loneliness under her love for the sea. She is also very adventurous, willing to love whoever she wants and take risky journeys for a chance at wealth.
