Summary
Chapter 21 starts with an observation from Saaya on a young bully who was run off a cliff by crows he tormented.
Xiala wakes up after the storm in the shed with Serapio. She realizes she is a prisoner and demands to be let out, but Serapio says Baat blamed Xiala for Loob's death even though he would have died too had Xiala not cut the rope. She sits with Sera pio and looks at his uncovered eyes, unbothered. He gives her some clothes and Xiala imagines sleeping with him to try and improve her mood. However, Serapio hears the men debating on how to deal with Xiala and Serapio, even though they are stranded. He reveals that Xiala had a tail and gills after leaving the sea.
Days go by and the crew is not navigating well. Then, Patu dies of his illness...
